The School Nurse position provides the fullest possible educational opportunity for each student by minimizing absence due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in district schools within the framework of established district policies and procedures. The nurse serves as the direct link between physicians, families, community health cares services and agencies to enhance the quality and continuity of health care for all students. Assumes responsibility for appropriate intervention, management and/or referral of all students; provides relevant health instruction, counseling, and guidance to students, parents, teachers and others concerning a variety of acute, chronic health problems, first aid, diseases, and other health related topics. The School Nurse upholds professional standards and laws pertaining to health and /or nursing care and district policies.

Qualifications:
• Valid Arizona Professional Registered Nursing License
• A.A. Degree in Nursing or BS in Nursing from Regionally accredited
College or University
• School Nursing, Pediatric or Public Health Nursing Experience desired
(3 Years)
• Experience with Student Assessments
• Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to the
care of children in the school environment
• Current American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certified or within 90 days of
employment
• Hearing Screening Certified preferred
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student, staff and District information
• Pass a background clearance and fingerprint check.

Terms of Employment:
• 10 Month Contract
• RN Salary Schedule, $35,232 - $47,648, based on Experience and Degree
